last money for the year

today i sent $300 to the la food bank. this represents the money i made at the art showing in long beach and from an order for 60 bookmarks for christmas. it will be my last donation of the year and i don't know if i will be able to continue next year. but that remains to be seen, what is known now is that alot of people bought my art and it added up to about $800 0r so i think. the food bank says they can provide 4 meals per $1 donated, so you have provided 3200 meals this year. thank you for your support.

today i sent $260 to the los angeles regional foodbank. this bring the total to $400 donated by YOU and sent to them. thank you so much for your support. i know it will help. i have received an order for 50 bookmarks from a business. they plan to give them to their best customers at christmas. so i will be busy with them for a while. in the meantime, i am doing small pieces to keep my hand in and you can see them on my flickr page if you are interested.

more new art

i added a 6x9 today, titled 'straight from the heart." i used all straight lines in it and it is hard to avoid curves, let me tell you. but i like the effect and had fun trying to "keep it straight". i am asking a $12 donation if you would like to support me and have this fine piece of art! teehee. thanks for looking.

funds delivered

yesterday, i handed $140 to the pastor of my mother's church for their food bank partner. it felt very good to be able to give what you all contributed and know it will be put to good use. thank you to all who have helped and to you who may help in the future.

last week, i read an article that said that many people who get food stamps have no cash income at all and that 1 in 8 children in america is hungry every day. when i switched back to yahoo, their headline was "how to get rid of those unwanted holiday pounds" and was accompanied by a photo of a slim pretty young woman on an exercise bike in a gym. these 2 stories jangled on my nerves and i decided that i wanted to help out a local food bank.

i have no money, being recently laid off and retired, but i have talent which i have been using to make atcs. by the definition, they are always traded, never sold. my most recent endeavors have used the "zendoodle" technique and they have been very popular.

today, i am offering greeting cards, post cards, and various sizes of original art, for a set donation, with all money going to my local food bank, through my mother's church. all supplies, mailing costs, and time are donated by me, every dime you donate will go directly to the food bank. you can see these on my flickr account, at http://www.flickr.com/photos/52822842@N00/.
